Collective behaviour is all around us from flocks of birds to schools of fish to human crowds. Collective behaviour happens across multiple spatial and temporal scales making it one of the most ubiquitous, natural phenomena around us. For a long time, organismal collective behaviour has been studied separately across many disciplines from biology to ecology to physics to engineering. The aim of this school is to bring multiple disciplinary approaches to collective behaviour, studying a wide variety of organisms using different methods. The school thus aims to prepare the next generation of scientists that are exposed to a breadth of approaches to study collective behaviour.
We invite authors to submit papers through the Gecco submission system focused on evolving self-organization. This workshop is part of the GECCO conference that will take place in Málaga, Spain from July 14 to July 18.

The second chapter of this trilogy is focused on understanding what many consider to be the canonical model of relational biology, (M,R)-systems. As we will see, this model lacks an adequate biological interpretation, so it is necessary to extend Rosen's ideas to the biochemical realm if we really want to understand what life is.

The aim of LANET is to provide with a forum to join all scientists who are somehow related to the research on Network Science in Latin America. The rapid growth of the field of Network Science in the last two decades has manifested in the form of schools, workshops and conferences in Latin America. However, the creation of LANET as a stable and periodic forum devoted to Network Science will further spur the formation of research groups interested in the field and help to establish it as a discipline across Latin American Universities and Research Institutions.
