EHBEA New Investigator Award 2026
The EHBEA Steering Committee is calling for nominations for the 2025 EHBEA New Investigator's Award. The prize will be an expenses-paid plenary slot at the EHBEA 2025 annual conference in Leden. If you are eligible, you are invited to self-nominate. If you are not eligible, but know someone who is, you are invited to encourage that person to apply.
Eligibility
The basis for the award is evidence of a promising start to a career in research within EHBEA’s remit by someone near the beginning of their career. Candidates should (i) be a member of EHBEA at the time of nomination, (ii) have a degree and PhD in a relevant topic, (iii) have less than five years’ postdoctoral experience, and (iv) have shown great potential to make a significant contribution to the field of evolution and human behaviou
Nomination procedure
Candidates must self-nominate. By the closing data, the candidate must provide:
- A copy of this self-nomination form, which includes a 250-word abstract of the presentation the candidate would give at the EHBEA conference, were they to be selected as the EHBEA New Investigator.
- A two-page CV (this should include your employment and education history, selected publications, grants and awards won and citizenship activities (e.g. reviewing, editing, workshop organisation or society contributions).
- PDFs of two published research articles
The EHBEA Steering Committee will select the winner on the basis of this material. Please submit your documents by e-mail as attachments, to the EHBEA Secretary (ehbea.secretary@gmail.com).
Please note, the while the second criteria for eligibility is having less than five years’ postdoctoral experience, the committee recognises the many factors which will extend this period, including and not limited to, parental leave, leave to provide care, delays associated with COVID-19 and the uptake of new positions and leave due to ill health.
